View large-scale photos of the work of seminal fashion photographer Helmut Newton
Top German fashion photographer Helmut Newton was known as the “king of kink” for his subjects: strong, beautiful women with a penchant for vampy lingerie, dagger-like high heels, and a knack for getting involved in risqué situations. His provocative editorials appeared in top fashion magazine such as Vogue and Bazaar. Now, huge blown-up images of over 100 of his most iconic works are on view at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City. Also on view at the space are two documentaries about Newton – “Helmut by June” made by his wife and featuring juicy behind-the-scenes footage of supermodels like Cindy Crawford on set – and “Provocateur,” an original film from Arclight Productions on Newton’s impact on photography, with interviews with many of the models, editors, and others who worked with him.
