The contradictory aesthetic philosophies of human health reside at the core of Ilona Sagar’s exhibtion
‘Human Factors’. Regarding the body as a site where internal and external languages collide, Sagar’s
eponymous film is the starting point for a new series incorporating digital imagery, performance, texts
and audio. The project’s incongruous syntax is severe and emotive, an apparent chaos manufacturing
new systems of logic. The history of individual health as a political tool is evident—Sagar mediates this
legacy with strategies in physiotherapy and by analysing the architectures of the health industry.
Ilona Sagar (b.1985, lives and works in London) received a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in
2008 and completed an MFA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2012. Recent exhibitions include

Weekend; Saturated Space commission for the Architectural Association (all 2013); Heart of Darkness,
