Dangerously young goth punk from Copenhagen supports their latest, You're Nothing

Controversial Copenhagen goth punks Iceage are back in town, touring to support their sophomore LP, 2013’s You’re Nothing. As oft cited for their use of a militant aesthetic and for their forward thinking take on punk music, Iceage draws comparisons left and right to early Joy Division, with the young Danes drawing heavily on mood and atmosphere, though with somewhat more aggression to the comparably tame post-punk progenitors from Manchester. On their latest offering, Iceage look to hardcore, black metal, no wave and goth to create something uniquely their own, a feat made all the more impressive by the band members’ youth and vigor during sometimes hectic but always impressively emotive live performances.
