The brainy bunch at Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) are back with another one of their signature battle royals. Live streamed on Fora.tv and recorded for NPR, their matches are modeled after Oxford-style debates and feature leading authorities locking horns on a range of timely topics, such as clean energy and the Middle East. Certainly not fly-by-night, these discussions are grounded in fact and informed analysis. The subject of tonight's verbal sparring are the millennials. Is the generation getting a bad rap as being selfish, narcissistic and lazy? Is their true potential being clouded by stereotypes? They say they want to change the world, maybe the are equipped to? Arguing that millennials don’t stand a chance are Binta Niambi Brown and W. Keith Campbell (co-author, 'The Narcissism Epidemic’). In the against corner are David D. Burstei (author of 'Fast Future: How the Millennial Generation is Shaping Our World'), and Jessica Gross (writer for Slate and Bloomberg Businessweek). Returning to ref the proceedings is ABC News correspondent and author John Donvan. And for those that can't make it over in person, you can still join the debate online and cast your vote, for or against.
