The multi-talented Alex Karpovsky, of late renown for playing the part of Ray Ploshansky on HBO’s hit series Girls, joins artist and co-founder of THE THING Quarterly John Herschend, for a screening of their work and discussion. Herschend’s Stories from the Evacuation (2012), a short film commissioned by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, takes place during the museums two year preparation for renovations, as art works and personal are dispersed throughout the Bay. Alex Karpovsky presents his latest full length Red Flag (2012), an award winning semi-autobiographical dark comedy filled with the kind of painfully hilarious moments that fans of Karpovsky’s work love most.
