dublab's weekly Vibing Time party teams up with The Goethe-Institut and the German Consulate General Los Angeles to present a special Sunday session in celebration of the release of the new, dublab-curated Krautrock Classics & Wunderground compilations, recordings of some of LA’s most creative musicians interpreting the music of influential Krautrock groups during a 2012 Krautrock Classics concert at the Ford Amphitheater. Soak up the sun on the rooftop of the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles while five DJs--Jimmy Tamborello, M. Geddes Gengras, Suzanne Kraft, Nanny Cantaloupe, and Carlos Niño--spin the psychedelic, progressive, and cosmic sounds of Germany in the 1960′s & 1970′s.
dublab is a community supported web radio station and creative collective dedicated to the growth of progressive music, arts and culture.
Since 1999 dublab has been exploring the wide spectrum of Future Roots music. dublab DJs dig deep to share music that blurs boundaries and elevates ears.
Each Sunday at Vibing Time, a rotating posse of dublab DJs share sun-soaked music selections from the rooftop of the Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles.
This week we proudly team up with The Goethe-Institut Los Angeles and the German Consulate General Los Angeles to present the new, dublab-curated Krautrock Classics & Wunderground compilations. Internet radio station dublab and the German Consulate General Los Angeles have partnered to highlight rare and previously unheard songs from Germany’s most progressive musicians. The goal of Wunderground is to unveil the vast waves of creative, cross-generational music made in Germany.
This is an exploration of the psychedelic, progressive and cosmic music from Germany in the 1960′s & 1970′s. In June of 2012 dublab and The Goethe-Institut Los Angeles presented the Krautrock Classics concert at the Ford Amphitheater featuring some of LA’s most creative musicians interpreting the music of influential Krautrock groups. This CD is a document of that experience.
