Live Read of Groundhog Day, Directed by Jason ReitmanLACMA (5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA) Map it $40
It's hard to remain objective when writing about one's favorite film, so let's just say Jason Reitman will be winning lifelong fans for opting to perform a live read to one of the greatest comedies of all time, Groundhog Day. While audience participation isn't requested, nor is it condoned, if you find yourself unable to suppress the urge to yell out your favorite quotes in time with the reading, seize the moment after asking yourself "What would Phil Connors do?" -- or, better yet: "What would Bill Murray do?"
In short: Carpe diem!
Director Jason Reitman returns to Film Independent at LACMA with the March installment of the series he created: Live Read. Reitman will once again select a classic film script and a cast of his choosing to do a cold, unrehearsed reading of the material. More details to be announced.
