LUNCHTIME CONCERTS: GRAND PARK’S GOT MOVES
THURS NOV 7
Lunch gets EVEN BETTER. For the first three THURSDAYS in NOVEMBER, see some of LA County’s fresh and innovative companies as they dance through the park. While you seek this beautiful dancing, don’t forget to LUNCH Á LA PARK.
THURS NOV 7: “Dreams of Grandeur” by Invertigo Dance Theatre, which will transform Grand Park from a number of spaces into a richly interactive experience with a playful, magical dance.
THURS NOV 14: “Sheila” by Ate9 dANCEcOMPANY, which will challenge audience expectations of a dance performance where dancers dress as pedestrians, appear and disappear from the crowd, become both performers and viewers and create an element of surprise.
THURS NOV 21: “Action-scape” by Wookey & Tang, which will call attention to the physical landscape and urban context of Grand Park, while revealing the inventory of the daily movement patterns present in the park. This participatory piece by an ensemble includes dance and non-dance students from the UCLA Department of World Arts & Cultures and the Cal Poly Pomona Department of Landscape Architecture.
