Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF presents its fifth annual holiday production of Mark Foehringer's Nutcracker Sweets, a unique 50 minute version of the classic ballet Nutcracker specifically designed for families with young children. Featuring live music - - a chamber orchestra with 9 musicians - - and the return of former ODC dancer, Brian Fisher as Drosselmeyer, musical direction by Michael Morgan, set design by Peter Crompton, costume design by Richard Battle, lighting design by Patrick Hajduk and production direction by Frederic O. Boulay. Nutcracker Sweets is an affordable, fun and zany rendition of this popular holiday tradition.
The production runs December 7-24, Southside Theater, Fort Mason Center, San Francisco.
Special Events this year include:
Saturday, December 7, 2 pm performance: Grandparents Day - Take your holiday photograph with your grandchildren and cast members from Nutcracker Sweets after the show. Please bring your own camera.
Sunday, December 8, 2 pm: Veterans Day - Come to a special performance honoring Veterans. Bring your own camera and pose with cast members after the show.
Sunday, December 15, 4 pm: Dress Up Day - Children dress up in their favorite costumes, pose for a photograph with cast members after the show, and receive a special treat. Please bring your own camera.
