When experimental punk and noise duo No Age burst onto the scene in 2007 with their debut LP “Weirdo Rippers,” they didn’t just break out as a band: they exploded. Guitarist Randy Randall and drummer/vocalist Dean Allen Spunt were leading the charge of a resurgent art and music community in Los Angeles that was coming together at spots like the infamous all ages venue The Smell with an energy and exuberance unseen for decades. No Age are the poster children for the ‘new’ LA, the one you actually want to move to, a pied-piper of catchy pop-punk melodies laid out over a mesmerizing wall of noise and samples and chillin’ at the beach.
