Come in costume and embrace yer inner pirrrrrrrate
In response to the Million Pirate March that marauded through the Bay to Breakers running race in 2007, the swashbucklers of the East Bay assembled their own pirate party — albeit one that was more family-friendly and less dedicated to libation. The enthusiastic organizers hoped for 5,000 pirate enthusiasts to venture to the Vallejo Waterfront; instead, they got 30,000. This year, Captain Jack Sparrow's doppelgänger, Jack Spareribs (who apparently also works as a ventriloquist magician), returns for the fun, and the yo-ho-ho-ers of The Seadogs jam out an all-ages set. For those lacking eye patches and peg legs, a flotilla of outfitters is on site to provide revelers with thematic accessories.
