The garage punk trio rocks Brooklyn
After playing to a packed crowd at the Beekman Beer Garden in June, Oblivians are back for another whirl. Hailing from Memphis, the underground garage rock trio emerged in 1993 and went on to release Soul Food, Popular Favorites, and the Gospel-inspired Play 9 Songs with Mr. Quintron before going on hiatus in 1998. The late 2000's saw the band resurface to play the random reunion show, the most famous being their appearance with the Gories in 2009. Flash forward to 2013, and Oblivians are fully back on the scene, having just released a new LP Desperation, which they recorded at Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville. Known to put on crazy live shows, passing instrument and vocal duties around like a good joint, Oblivians bring their madness to the Bell House tonight.
