As far as skills go, knowing how to pick a lock is sure to come in handy at one time or another. Whether it's to access your apartment, to get into your car, or to read your girlfriend's diary, the fine art of shimming something open without a key is an invaluable skill to have. Tonight, the folks at the Obscura Society invite you to the inner sanctum of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen for an old-fashioned lock picking-themed soiree. In addition to being schooled in the trade of "breaking in" by internationally renowned lock picker Schuyler Towne, guests are treated to free-flowing classic cocktails and the swinging sounds of Jason Prover and the Sneak Thievery Orchestra. 19th Century-period attire is encouraged to match the splendor of the party surroundings, and all revelers exit with their very own lock picking kit.
