Music, art and food at the historic Onderdonk House in Ridgewood
It may not be as bad ass as Woodstock, but this two-day festival on two acres of outdoor park land in Ridgewood, Queens sounds pretty rad. Inhabiting the backyard of Vander Ende-Onderdonk House, the oldest Dutch Colonial stone house in New York City, Out in the Streets aligns music, art and food in perfect harmony thanks to the efforts of event producers BirdDog Promo, Supercrush Studio and The Sky Report. Pictureplane, Rush Midnight, Doldrums, Wild Yaks and Dan Friel are among the bands slated and Dash 7 Design, Andrew Thomas and Gabriel Hurier have created art installations to color the landscape. Food truck fare is available for purchase and a giant art cube will likely be hard to miss. Be sure to bring cash, as credit cards are not accepted and ATMs are far away.
