Foreign film junkies can get their fix at this multi-day celebration of European cinema. Formerly known as Disappearing Act, Panorama Europe is presented by the Moving of the Moving Image in association with the European Union National Institutes, and showcases 17 contemporary feature films, most of which are screening in New York for the first time. Highlights include Czech director Jan Hrebejk’s Honeymoon, Axel Ranisch’s “musical, sporting tragicomedy for the whole family” I Feel Like Disco, and modern-day Greek tragedy Miss Violence, which won Alexandros Avranas a Silver Lion for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival. And for those that enjoy their cinema in smaller bites, you can’t go wrong with Cinematic Inclusions, a shorts program presented by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania. Many great foreign films never make it to our shores due to lack of distribution, don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch these gems up on a big screen.
