What was once home to well-to-do wintertime vacationers, Pasadena has a strange, sometimes sordid history, best told through the crimes themselves. Highlights include the site of an 1897 dog-mauling and the steps of what is now the Scottish Rite Cathedral, where wealthy dentist Leonard Siever was shot dead in 1933 in an unsolved murder. The bus also drives past the former home of Robert Kennedy's assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, and the site where 37-year-old Jet Propulsion Lab co-founder and occultist, Jack Parsons, died in a mysterious explosion in 1952.
