Drinks, snacks & fun to support this group that uses puppetry to raise social & political awareness

Hey all! The People's Puppets of Occupy Wall Street invites you to an evening of fun and performances on Monday, November 18th! Come see our studio, learn what we do, enjoy some of our work, and kick off another year of puppets, music and art for our resistance movements.

WHAT'S THIS EVENT?
The People's Puppets is asking all our friends to come kick off our month long fundraiser with us! Our fundraiser will ensure that we have access to the space and resources we need to continue this work for another year. Enjoy a taco for your donation- or just come by for free drinks, snacks and fun.

THE WHO PUPPETS?? THE PEOPLE'S WHAT??
the People’s Puppets of Occupy Wall Street is a collective of artists, musicians, and performers who came together through Occupy Wall Street to use the potent and exhilarating vehicle of puppetry to raise social and political awareness, build community, and offer a means of engagement in a more participatory democracy.

We build large-scale puppetry, toy theater, cantastorias, banners and lots else. We perform throughout New York City’s public spaces, streets, subways, and parks in conjunction with rallies, marches, demonstrations and politically allied arts events.

We see ourselves as a support team to the multiplicity of people's movements in NYC, and pride ourselves in collaborating with a large variety of groups mission stems from a shared thirst for social justice. We’ve created visuals and performances with and for organizations such as the Black Institute, the Robin Hood Tax, the Coalition of Immakolee Workers, the Lakota Grandmothers, 350.org, Move to Amend, and many more.

We aim to carry on the extraordinary lineage set by radical puppeteers throughout history, and are inspired by the work of Bread & Puppet Theater, Great Small Works, to the Puppetistas of the Anti-Globalization movement, and many others.

We believe another world IS possible!
