The theatrical adaptation of Point Break Live! returns to the stage for a very limited time
The breakout theatrical phenomenon of the aught’s is back for a very limited engagement at San Francisco’s DNA Lounge. Point Break Live! is writer Jamie Keeling’s stage adaptation of 1991’s Point Break, a cult film favorite starring Keanu Reeves as an FBI agent sent undercover to solve a series of bank heists pulled off by a president mask wearing gang of surfing bank robbers led by the Swayze himself. The plot’s pretty ripe for a stage parody all on its lonesome, but the real magic of Point Break Live! lies in one important twist: the part of Reeve’s character is played but an unrehearsed audience volunteer who reads his lines from cue cards. Perhaps you’ll be the next Johnny Utah?
