When they write the book on the last decade of Brooklyn music (and you know they will), bands like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, and Grizzly Bear will have their fair share of representation in the story of how the borough became America's musical mecca. The book will no doubt make many of us feel old, but hopefully some of the lesser-hyped bands will get as much credit as their indie giant brethren, because it was music made by groups like the noisey and soon to be defunct Ohio-born, Williamsburg-raised Pterodactyl that really made Brooklyn the place to live if you want to be in a band. Fittingly enough, Dan Friel, of the defunct and almost as under-appreciated act Parts & Labor, will open things up for this show that will have you screaming and recalling the glory days of just a few summers ago.
