Rinsed go underground
After three weekends of warehouses, gyms, rooftops, pizzas, bad vodka, we were pale shadows of humans. We felt guilt, shame even, it was necessary to hibernate to gather strength and my god are we feeling virile. We finally feel powerful enough to answer all the world's great questions: "Why are we here?", "What is the meaning of life?", "Was Jesus bi?, "What is RINSED?"
Next Friday we're returning to our roots. We're throwing a party featuring some artists that you've probably never heard of, one of which we're flying in from the UK for his American debut, just because we think he's incredible. If you'd prefer to go see a dj you already know, at a venue with Halls in the bathroom for your scratchy throat, we must insist that you do that instead. This party will feature brand new music and our capacity will be limited.
BARESKIN (Hypercolour / UK - US DEBUT)
JAMIE ANTONELLI (Nurvous Records / NYC)
Bareskin is someone who, in our world, is already famous. He's made some of our favorite tracks of the year and is truly a groundbreaking producer, bending genres and contorting vocals to create a whole new style of house music with real soul. He just put out his new 'Distorted Symmetry' EP on one of our labels of the year, Hypercolour, and is slowly yet steadily receiving worldwide attention. This is a case of catching someone right before they crack the surface so it's likely not only your first, but your last chance to see him in such an intimate setting.
And to represent the NYC we're proud to introduce Jamie Antonelli. Jamie Antonelli has been hiding in plain site, making some massive tunes on Nurvous, and putting out some next level dj mixes. He's been remixed by legends like MK, and has remixed modern classics like Purple Disco Machine. His dj sets create the kind of environment to have accidental children to and we wanted to provide you the opportunity to do that, if you want to. Although we, legally speaking, accept no responsibility.
A.Pop is converting the space into a celebration of the underground. With the recent crackdown of the truffle hogs, sniffing out rare parties and devouring them (with summonses), she's creating an installation that reflects the underground's immortality. Inspired by the infinity symbol and it's ancient reference to the ouroborous, she'll be creating a world that symbolizes re-creation and eternal resilience in an effort to inspire us to stick together and continue being degenerates in the recent wake of mindless enforcement of archaic nighttime regulations.
Open bar will be provided from 11pm-12am.
