A non-stop, nine-hour super mix of music from around the corner and around the globe
This is our kind of marathon. For nine hours, some of the most innovative musicians from around the world play nonstop — many of them debuting material in world-premiere performances. The genres vary as widely as the countries of origin and the instruments, from recorders and trumpets to percussion and electronics. Highlights include the Brooklyn Youth Chorus performing Nico Muhly's Short Prayers in Respect of a Storm, Asphalt Orchestra playing compositions by Tom Zé and Tatsuya Yoshida, plus appearances by singer-songwriter Shara Worden and Brooklyn noise-rock duo, Talk Normal. Check out the schedule and swing by; your eyes (and ears) are sure to get a surprise.
