Before director Douglas Sirk became known for such weepy melodramas as Imitation of Life (1959) and Magnificent Obsession (1954), he helmed this film noir about the power of passion. In Shockproof, a gorgeous former con marries her parole officer (Cornel Wilde) while continuing to sneak around with the criminal boyfriend responsible for her imprisonment. Fans of LA architecture, enjoy the presence of one of our most iconic structures: the Bradbury Building.
