SHUT UP, SIT DOWN & EAT, a.k.a. “Stai zitto siediti e mangia,” is the hilarious journey of emotional dysfunction – Italian Style! When four impatient Italian Americans show up for a group therapy session where the therapist never shows, they decide to take their issues into their own hands. Get ready – they are going to talk about it all, sharing their true feelings about work, love, relationships, and growing up in their Italian families. If you are tired of the typical and really need a good belly laugh, come enjoy the roller coaster ride of laughter, insight and revelation.
SHUT UP, SIT DOWN & EAT is America’s first plomedy, written by four outstanding New York comedians Tartaglione, Moffa, Giorgi and Monty with Tom Ingegno. Conceived over pizza and wine, born on a comedy club stage, and raised in casinos & theatres, the production has matured with this long-awaited Off Broadway New York City run. The cast has performed over 75 times at a multitude of diverse venues, including Governor’s Comedy Club on Long Island, a sold out show at The Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, extended runs at The State Room in Albany, a two year contract with Laugh Out Loud Productions for Senior matinee shows and even a Hurricane Sandy fundraiser. The popularity has grown and the audiences have returned again and again.
