Join us to hear Ronald Rael and Virginia San Fratello from Emerging Objects talk about their research into new materials for designing and 3D printing objects for the built environment. Rael and San Fratello will share still and moving images about their process, and bring examples of the products, including a material based on salt from San Francisco Bay. Emerging Objects is an Oakland based pioneering design and research company that specializes in designing and 3D printing objects. They have developed materials using paper, salt, cement polymer, nylon, sand and wood for 3D additive manufacturing of building components and interior accessories.
Presentation followed by a visit to the exhibition New West Coast Design 2.
