- Conscious Hip Hop + Electronic Dance Music -
Formed in the heart of Venice Beach California, and immersed in one of the most culturally diverse communities in LA, arises the heart driven, and service orientated Hip Hop emissaries of peace, the Luminaries. From the underground parties in “Dogtown” to the biggest festival stages on the west coast, the Luminaries have now taken their message international and crowds everywhere sing along the anthem, “Peace Worldwide Starts From Inside!” Luminaries bring an amazing live show that’s reminiscent of the golden era of Hip Hop, fused with a soulful, electro, live band, funk filled experience! As expressed by one of the “Grandfathers” of the genre, and early founder of modern rap, Afrika Bambaataa reminded us the power of “Peace, Unity, Love, and having Fun!” In the same vein, Luminaries create a soundscape of Hip Hop mantras inviting audiences to participate in the connectivity of one another while going ecstatic on the dance floor!
Skytree, aka Evan Snyder, started recording music at the age of 15, after the loan of a beaten Tascam tape deck cracked open the world of multi-track recording. Early “New Age” or synth-based albums by the likes of Tangerine Dream, as well as old pagan folk LPs from his parents’ record collection provided an early and profound influence. In the years hence, the Skytree name has appeared alongside artists such as Lotus, Bluetech, Phutureprimitive, Tipper, Bird of Prey, Excision and Bassnectar, among others, with many more to come. Skytree’s newest album entitled “Crystal Consciousness” was released on 11.11.11.
"In relation to tranformation, the tree symbolizes the ascent of the mind, or awareness, from the "earth" of matter-nature-body to the "sky" of spirit-god-consciousness. Like trees were are "rooted in darkness and crowned with light": our being is grounded in the unconscious darkness of matter, grows and extends itself throughout life, and reaches upward into the "higher" realms of consciousness. The tree stands as the preeminent symbol of growth, renewal, and transformation."

~ TECHNICOLOR LENSES
Heightened hip-hop lyricism and freestyle over dynamic electronic beats, eclectic electric guitar, raw rhythms of wisdom, and a wide array of consciousness expanding phenomena, introducing the new paradigm of communication and music to the world at this very moment. The Technicolor Lenses trifecta is the sonic creation of Jackson Whalan, Sam Eckstein Brandon Lewis and newly added vocalist Carmen Estevez Calero... combining original hip-hop and MC-ing, electronic/dub-step, psychedelic rock, jam, funk, and spoken word, providing conscious social commentary on the current state of human existence. The live performance of Technicolor Lenses cultivates the high energy of a hip-hop or electronic set with a unique instrumental element.
Esseks (Sam Eckstein) is a Brooklyn based producer and artist that creates emotionally driven electronic music and art. He also plays guitar and produces for the band Technicolor Lenses. While Sam has been recording music for _ years, he only began experimenting with electronic music 3 years ago after being exposed to the massive sounds and extreme level of control made possible by electronic mediums. This musical awakening prompted him to start Technicolor Lenses with Jackson Whalan in 2011. Since the release of his first solo effort "Hair and Nails" in April 2012 Esseks has shared the stage with range of artists including Ott and the All Seeing I, An-Ten-Nae, Dynasty Electric, D.V.S.*, Srikalogy, LowRIDERZ, Govinda and Mike Greenfield of Lotus. His music is influenced by a variety of styles from J Dilla inspired hip hop beats to heavy bass fueled dubstep to house and even blues and swing. The diverse elements of his music are tied together with Esseks’ signature basses and synths, creating a sound all his own.
