Experience two fascinating new pieces by innovative choreographer and dancer Tere O’Connor. Sister and poem are the central works of a multiyear project titled BLEED—praised as “masterly” by the New York Times—which examines how diverse cultures bleed into each other to create symbiotic relationships. Playful, enigmatic, and engaging, Sister and poem push the dancers’ bodies into dramatic and abstract gestures that explore the boundaries of physical movement—all set to an understated but mesmerizing score. Don’t miss these two riveting and subversive additions to O’Connor’s already remarkable repertoire.
O’Connor has been making dances since 1982 and has created more than thirty-five works for his company. He is the recipient of numerous dance awards, including a Foundation for Contemporary Performance Art Award and three New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Awards.
