A new annual food festival debuts at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
The backlot at Hollywood’s historic Paramount Studios is home to the First Annual Thai Food Festival. For a flat rate of $50, you’ll indulge in food and drink tastings, watch demos with celebrity guest chefs, get educated at culinary discussion panels, and enjoy live entertainment. Perhaps most notable among the celebrity chef contingent representing here is Thai Town Honorary Mayor/Thai Culinary Ambassador Jet Tila, famed for leading Anthony Bourdain around LA's Thai Town on a particularly memorable episode of Bourdain’s “No Reservations,” along with appearances on “Iron Chef America” and “Chopped.” Other culinary celebs at the festival include Evan Kleiman of KCRW’s “Good Food,” Andy Ricker (Pok Pok), Street’s Susan Feniger, Sang Yoon (Lukshon), David LeFevre (MB Post, Fishing with Dynamite), and Kris Yenbamroong of Night + Market. Taste dishes from illustrious Thai restaurants and street vendors, including Jitlada, Ruen Pair, Pa Ord, Thai Society, Thai Nakorn, Bhan Kanom Thai, Lum Ka Naad, Sapp Coffee Shop, and Siam Sunset, and enjoy Thai culture and artistry via Muay Thai demos, classical and folk dancing, and Thai fruit carving.
