Blood Orange performs at the Armory Show's opening night bash
The Armory Party 2014MoMA The Museum of Modern Art (11 West 53rd Street, New York, NY) Map it $150
One of the hottest tickets of Armory Week, MoMA's opening night bash always attracts a bold and eclectic crew of revelers. Last year’s party saw Solange play to a captive crowd while DJ/model Harley Viera-Newton was on the decks. For 2014, Dev Hynes’ Blood Orange is the featured attraction. A gifted musician and producer who has also recorded as Lightspeed Champion and worked with the likes of Sky Ferreira, Florence and the Machine and the Chemical Brothers, Hynes has two albums to boast with his R&B-infused project, Coastal Grooves (2011) and Cupid Deluxe (2013). The rest of the evening’s soundtrack is served up by Jamie XX. Tickets to the Armory Party also score goers entry to the Armory Show prior to the party. And, if you have dollars to spare, a pricier VIP ticket is available that grants access to MoMA’s newest exhibition Robert Heinecken: Object Matter, which doesn’t open to the public until March 15.
