An event for film lovers and creative minds
The Good School Presents Animation League: Dark SilhouetteVideology (308 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, NY) Map it $45
Brooklyn based animating school, The Good School (TGS), is happy to present Animation League, an event series for creative minds, focused around special themes, inspired by master animators, and influenced by a well stocked bar.
Event themes range from week to week as participants learn how to storyboard ideas, create characters, and work with professional stop motion animation software.
This is not a continuing education class. Though each event is structured, the Animation League is about having fun, with projects designed for all levels of experience. Whether you’re a professional animator, filmmaker, artist interested in a new skill, or just a lover of animation, you’ll get a chance to create something new with a community of like-minded people. And that’s pretty cool.
THIS WEEK’S WORKSHOP:
This workshop focuses on the simple beauty of silhouette animation. You’ll be introduced to professional DragonFrame software and experiment with multi-plane and backlighting techniques. Grab a beer or two as you work on your own creations, collaborate with friends, and enjoy screenings of Lotte Reiniger’s 1926 classic, The Adventures of Prince Achmed.
