Sidney D. Gamble Lecture Series: The Hearst Ranch: Family, Land and Legacy
Many Californians have experienced the architectural splendor of Hearst Castle through guided tours of suites, cottages and rooms at William Randolph Hearst’s Cuesta Encantada (The Enchanted Hill). But what about the 82,000 acres that surround the legendary estate? What surprises are hidden on this spectacular landscape that is still privately owned and has never been open to the public?
Through historical images from the vast Hearst archive and full-color photography commissioned for her recent book, author Victoria Kastner will reveal the secrets, wonders and stories of the land in an upcoming lecture “Hearst Ranch: Family, Land and Legacy” taking place at 7 p.m. on February 11, 2014 at Pasadena’s Neighborhood Church, 301 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena CA 91103. The lecture is part of the Sidney D. Gamble Lecture Series, sponsored by the Friends of the Gamble House.
