Sista Jean & CB
Sista Jean & CB makes no bones about what they want to sing and play about. Whether its Americana.Blues,Rock,R&B, or Jazz, their stories come in many colors and rhythms. Influenced by the west coast sound, their presence is amazing. Sista Jean started as a BG singer for the studios in Los Angeles over 20 years ago and still has the fire inside to groove with the best in the business.
Max, Andris, and Amber met at USC where they all studied jazz performance. After touring together as a horn section in 2011, they began co-writing and recording their first album “Be Free”, which they released in April 2012.
Since their album release, Moonchild has opened for Stevie Wonder and Georgia Anne Muldrow, played shows up the west coast, released music videos, and received high praises from artists such as Jill Scott, Robert Glasper, Tyler the Creator, DJ Jazzy Jeff, 9th Wonder, and James Poyser. They currently sell albums at record stores around the US and Japan, and have received airplay on BBC Radio 6 with Gilles Peterson, KCRW, and on Los Angeles’ own 102.3. Moonchild continues to perform and has started working on their second album - to be released in 2014.
The Mudbug Brass Band
Imagine walking the streets of New Orleans circa 1915 where the early development of New Orleans Jazz was thriving from the “Red Light District” of Storyville to the Street Parades and Pleasure Clubs of the Crescent City. Today, The Mudbug Brass Band is capturing that spirit with each performance and bringing it to Los Angeles, California
