The plight of urban-dwelling 30-somethings is the subject of The Sonic Life of a Giant Tortoise (youth is not the only thing that’s sonic), Toshiki Okada's poignant and thought-provoking play currently enjoying a run at JACK. Directed by Dan Rothenberg, this production features a quintet of outstanding performers operating in a minimal set, with nearly all of their dialogue directed to the audience. On surface, these individuals seem to enjoy happy productive lives, but as is revealed, all is not as it seems.
