Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were still teenagers when they formed the Stones, the band that came to represent youth incarnate for much of the 60’s and early 70’s. The Strypes, from Cavan, Ireland, are even younger. The four friends are between 16 and 18 years old, and perhaps its the youth, or artful songwriting, or a combination of both, but you’d be hard pressed to find a band that does a better job of capturing the sound and exuberance of early rock n’ roll better a la The Rolling Stones or Bo Diddley.
