The Wooden Floor, a Santa Ana dance company comprised of under-served youth, has been inspiring audiences and transforming young lives for 30 years. The company’s latest program of new dance works features choreography by Herb Alpert Award-winner Susan Rethorst, New York-based choreographer Ivy Baldwin, and the company’s artistic director, Melanie Ríos Glaser. Known for its collaborative dance-making process between the youth and internationally recognized artists, The Wooden Floor yields contemporary dance that breaks down the ethnic, gender, age and class stereotypes of who can create and inspire art.
