The Yerba Buena Community Benefit District's Arts and Dialogue series presents The Yerba Buena Mini-Film Festival, a free one-hour showcase of award-winning contemporary silent films, poetic documentaries and discussion with noted Bay Area auteurs Cary McQueen, Lori "16mm" Varga, and Katie Gillum. Producer Amy Ng hosts the event at the Children's Creativity Museum in San Francisco's Yerba Buena neighborhood on Thursday, July 18 from 6pm-7pm.
Among the works to be shown are: Dean Mermell's "Modern Life," an award winning contemporary silent film about a young couple whose "now" is slipping away, and the peculiar things that happen while they sleep; Ken Paul Rosenthal's "Crooked Beauty," a poetic documentary short about the personal transformation of an artist and advocate for the mentally ill; and, Henry Gale's "Psychosis is Nothing Like a Badger" a humorous animated short raising awareness about the signs and symptoms of psychosis, in the hope that sufferers can seek help.
Admission is free. Space is limited. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. This evening is part of the Yerba Buena Community Benefit District's exciting Arts and Dialogue series of discussions, performance and workshops held in the Yerba Buena neighborhood.
