Those into EDM and all its splendor are likely to want in on this shindig that finds London label Night Slugs and its US sister Fade to Mind teaming up with THUMP for a blowout at Verboten. The three are activating their party powers in celebration of Icy Lake, an obscure house track that spurred the making of a mini-documentary that traces today’s cutting-edge dance music back to New York’s 90s gay club culture. The film is directed by Wills Glasspiegel with Night Slugs co-founder L-Vis 1990. This party kicks in following a screening earlier in the evening and features sets by Kingdom, L-Vis 1990, MikeQ, NA, Prince William and Kevin JZ Prodigy. Best to RSVP and get there early, the party is $10 after midnight.

ICY LAKE: Documentary Premiere Afterparty

THUMP has teamed up with London-based Night Slugs and their Los Angeles affiliates Fade to Mind to create the short documentary Icy Lake, directed by Wills Glasspiegel with Night Slugs co-founder L-Vis 1990. Icy Lake uses the labels' joint re-release of the obscure house track "Icy Lake" as a jumping off point for exploring connections between 90s tribal house, vogue culture, and the NYC underground past and present. Along the way, we hear from Bok Bok, Kingdom, Total Freedom and MikeQ as Icy Lake follows the endless inspiration loop of how tracks are born, forgotten, rediscovered, and given new life by subsequent generations.
The full film will premiere Friday, April 25 on THUMP worldwide.
