Adrian Sherwood returns to Dub Club for a special night of cross-cultural music, genre-bending music. Since founding his own label, On-U Sound Records, in 1979, the legendary UK producer has not only worked with the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Dub Syndicate, Tackhead, Singers and Players, African Head Charge, Keith LeBlanc, Doug Wimbish, and Skip McDonald, but he has also remixed tracks for Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Primal Scream, Pop Will Eat Itself, Sinéad O'Connor, and Skinny Puppy, not to mention his production work with Ministry, Cabaret Voltaire, KMFDM, Terminal Power Company, and Nine Inch Nails. Known for his distinctive production style involving the application of dub effects and mixing techniques to EDM, industrial music, reggae, and mainstream pop hits, Sherwood is uninhibited when it comes to blending genres, even incorporating blues, funk, and world music into his electronic dub-dubstep-dancehall concoctions. Consistently breaking new ground, Sherwood's productions in the 80's were far ahead of their time — so much so, they still sound fresh and edgy today.
Dub Club is proud to welcome back Adrian Sherwood! His productions on his On-U Sound label for groups like Dub Syndicate, Singers and Players, African Head Charge, and Tackhead were decades ahead of their time and still sound fresh and unique today. His more recent solo work obliterates the lines between dub , dubstep, and dancehall, and brings the On-U sonic madness right up to date. LAs own The Lions will be celebrating the release of "This Generation In Dub" on Stones Throw Records , 8 tracks from their "This Generation" LP remixed by Dub Club's Tom Chasteen! Inspired by reggae, sound system culture and the myriad of musical styles influenced by Jamaican music old and new, The Lions’ sound is firmly placed in soul music. Zvuloon Dub System is an 8 piece band with some of the cream of Israeli underground musicians. Adopting their name from one of the twelve tribes of Israel, the band was formed in 2006 by the Smilan brothers.
