This Saturday night belongs to the Bowl... and Vampire Weekend. The New Yorkers (who last year made it onto Obama's musical shortlist) will perform tunes from their third record, the critically acclaimed "Modern Vampires of the City." It's the band's most liberated record yet; the group teamed up with an outside producer for the first time (The Hippos frontman and Echo Park resident Ariel Rechstaid), rejecting any tunes that sounded familiar to their first two records. Expect a similarly rejuvenated stage performance and a show-stopper opening from Santa Fe wunderkind Zachary Condon, AKA Beirut.
