Van Pierszalowski of Port O'Brien reinvents himself with a fuzz pedal as WATERS
After the disintegration of folk rock darlings Port O’Brien in 2011, frontman and founder Van Pierszalowski took drastic action, moving to Norway and hitting reset on his musical career. The result of his itinerant hiatus is a fresh beginning in the form of a new project called WATERS. There are echos of the soaring choral catharsis that was the hallmark of Port O’Brien, but WATERS is otherwise an entirely different creature, one with a penchant for reckless abandon and fuzz pedals. WATERS performs every Monday this month at Brick & Mortar.
