The ghosts of past, present & future come to life today at this reading of Dickens' holiday classic
Now in its fourth year, Housing Works blesses the holiday season with a marathon reading of Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol. Taking turns reading the parts, writers and performers from all over the borough stop in to tell the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge's night of hanging out with the ghosts of past, present and future. This year, those lending their voice include Mike Albo, Jami Attenberg, Dave Hill, Adam Gopnik, Fiona Maazel, Emma Straub, Adelle Waldman, Rosie Schaap and many more. Before the readings get underway, members of the New York City Master Chorale warm up the crowd with some Christmas caroling.
