Learn how to observe the night sky

Break out the binoculars and telescopes and head up to the American Museum of Natural History for a crash course in star gazing. Hosted by the Hayden astronomers and members of the Amateur Astronomers Association, this winter-solstice happening begins inside Hayden's Space Theater where attendees are educated on what to look out for and given a "sneak preview" of the evening's sky using a Zeiss IX planetarium projector. Then, weather permitting, the party ventures outside for some cosmic observations.
