“Yum’s The Word” is the only show that blends old-fashioned birthday parties with modern- day storytelling. Each month comedian and storyteller, Robin Gelfenbien, throws a party for an audience member replete with Mad Libs, balloon animals and homemade ice cream cakes. Join Robin and some of New York City’s best storytellers for a sweet and decadent night of juicy stories and treats.
Robin has written jokes for emcee Rosie O’Donnell at The Matrix Awards where featured presenters included Martha Stewart, Rupert Murdoch and Hillary Rodham Clinton. Her original comedy songs have played on Sirius Satellite Radio and The Wiseguy Show hosted by Vinny “Big Pussy” Pastore. She’s been on VH1’s “Awesomely Badder Videos,” AMC’s “Liza Life Coach” with Cheri O’Teri, and she starred in a commercial directed by Spike Lee. She wrote and performed the critically-acclaimed solo show, “My Salvation Has a First Name (A Wienermobile Journey),” she has performed at The Moth, RISK! and Mortified, and she is the creator and host of the storytelling series, “Yum’s the Word.” Recently, she was featured in “Oy! Only Six? Why Not More? Six-Word Memoirs on Jewish Life” along with Henry Winkler and Larry David.
