There's more to Jay Mohr than stand-up. He's a writer, too, and now follows-up  Gasping for Airtime, the memoir of his two years on Saturday Night Live, with No Wonder My Parents Drank, an original take on first-time parenthood. He shares tales such as the lesson he learned when he and his wife wore adult diapers around the house to try to understand his son's reluctance to potty train: "Peeing in a diaper is freaking awesome…I want to wear one every time I drive to Vegas." Mohr might occasionally sink into sappiness, but roundly mocks himself for doing so, and the book sets itself apart from the current spate of celebrity-penned parenting books.

Harrah's says…

Making people laugh for more than 20 years, Mohr has been performing stand‐up comedy since he was 16 years old. Named one of the 100 greatest stand-up comics of all time by Comedy Central, Mohr is amongst the rarest of entertainers. Balancing both acting and comedy, Mohr has starred in 25 films and more than 50 television shows. He is a regular guest host on the nationally syndicated Jim Rome Show as well as a regular contributor for some of the highest-rated radio shows in the country. Additionally, Mohr wrote the best-selling book, Gasping for Airtime, about his battle with panic attacks throughout his tenure on Saturday Night Live. His second book was the hilarious, No Wonder My Parents Drank, which describes in painful and beautifully funny detail the pros and cons of parenthood.
