Two of the many highlights of this year's London Film Festival: John Sayles' '50s period piece Honeydripper, which features Danny Glover as a juke-joint owner struggling to survive America's Deep South, and Sarah Gavron's adaptation of Monica Ali's Brick Lane. Talk to Me, the story of ex-con-turned-radio-DJ Petey Greene is the hot biopic in town, while Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, based on the memoir by French magazine editor Jean-Dominique Bauby (who was paralysed by a stroke the age of 43 and communicated by blinking his left eye), is the heartbreaker. Lastly, the festival's hot ticket is a live discussion with director Wes Anderson, whose latest quirk-fest, The Darjeeling Limited, wraps up the festivities.
