Film Blame It on Fidel

Fidel Castro is almost as elusive a figure in this new film as he has been in real life. Centred on the childhood of a Parisian girl struggling to accept her parents' new view of social radicalism, Blame It on Fidel offers a naïve yet acute look back at the commotion and challenges of the early '70s, throwing up questions that remain valid today. Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, the film encapsulates nostalgia, antagonism and exhilaration through a truly absorbing screenplay.
