Alternative-music lovers owe Thrill Jockey a debt of gratitude for producing some of the most exciting, challenging, and visceral sounds from across the pond. What better way to pay them back than by going to this all-day event — the first of two 15th-birthday celebrations — featuring some of the label's finest. Even if you're not feeling particularly philanthropic, the first-rate line-up should convince you it's worth spending your Sunday in KOKO's sweaty environs. Headlining are the relentlessly unpredictable Brooklyn duo Fiery Furnaces, while the label's native Chicago is well-represented with post-rockers Califone and the Sea and Cake — featuring John McEntire of Tortoise (the second night's headliners) on drums.
