The tunnel beneath the city is now built, and the bullet trains are fuelled and ready to bring us just a bit closer to Europe. To make sure the importance of the new Eurostar terminal in this once-squalid area is not understated, the first service arrives into St Pancras today to kick off a mammoth 10-day cultural extravaganza that includes no fewer than 46 separate events. This afternoon, head down to the Great Northern Hotel to check out Minnie Wiesz's fascinating Camera Obscura exploration on the history of this wrinkled place. Meanwhile, the Big Chill House hosts the official opening-night party, premiering a special commissioned film by Semiconductor, with a live score courtesy of Red Snapper.
