Insomniacs and dreamers alike are welcome at this creative exploration on the subject of sleep. In contrast to most art spaces, the central gallery is dark and dramatically lit, simulating nighttime, and features a diverse collection of work that ranges from Goya paintings to strange and unusual alarm clocks. Themes explored include why, how and where we sleep, what happens when we don't (the world record is 11 days awake) and what our brain does when we do. Special events include symposia on insomnia, narcolepsy and dreaming, with speakers including eminent scientists, sociologists, artists and comedian David Baddiel, plus a late-night film festival — just in case you can't sleep.
