For a hefty dose of seasonal festivity — of the eye-blindingly neon variety — head along to the Southbank Centre, where David Batchelor's ever-popular Festival Remix light display sparks up today. Featuring concrete mixers and recycled bottles nestled in amongst a colourful jumble of bric-a-brac, Batchelor's display is joined this year by former Turner Prize nominee Anya Gallaccio's commissioned installation of over 1,000 hand-tinted red and green bulbs. Both artists explore the value of direct colour, with Batchelor, in particular, delving into how individuals experience the riot of hues.
