Responding to the emergence of new media and interactive art installations, the RIBA London and Arts Council England recruited young architects to imagine dynamic new spaces for art. The Art Spaces of the Future exhibit at the National Theatre showcases the best proposals, which cleverly integrate a flexible openness to new mediums with an awareness of both climate change and sustainability. The winners are unveiled today and cash prizes are to be presented, while their prospective blueprints — evoking a not-too-distant future — remain on display over the coming month.
